The broadcast media should stop showing him in real time. Put him on a time delay. Then show it with fact checking. Like the old Pop Up Video show that used to be on VH1. As he speaks, have little bubbles that show up that fact check him.

Like the mess from the Oval Office. When he says they're stopping all travel from Europe, including cargo, a coupe bubbles pop up saying that cargo isn't being stopped or citizens can still travel home, etc. You could even put a counter on the screen to for how many lies he tells and another one for how many times he sniffs.

It can be entertaining and informative. :-D

It sounds good on the surface. However we know Trump would just fill the room with sycophants and us them to push his propaganda. The job of the media will always be to maintain their objectivity a report the truth.

but I wonder if news cameras were just turned off at briefings if it wouldn’t matter if he filled room w/ sycophants, which he would

Well it has only gotten worse unfortunately. Trump gave one not completely awful press conference on Monday and the press were in full swoon. They are all dutifully covering the daily Trump fetes masquerading as covid-19 updates that are still just fonts of lies, exaggerations and non answers mixed in with some xenophobia.

agreed. His briefings are an information disaster in times of crisis and assembled press just kind of nods

(BY Eric Boehlert, article)

In this regard, Trump has joined forces with the bottom feeders of the right-wing media who are spreading misinformation for profit and for partisan reasons. AM radio's Rush Limbaugh, busy downplaying the virus' threat, recently compared it to the common cold and stressed the current "panic is just not warranted.” This, while Fox News' Sean Hannity urged fans to not listen to coronavirus warnings issued by Democrats. The press would never treat that kind of dangerous rhetoric as being newsworthy, so why does the press treat Trump's misinformation that way? And why don't the media have the courage to print and broadcast "Trump Lies About Pandemic" headlines?

Shouldn’t all press interviews then be delayed? Lots of politicians spread falsehoods. Most of them are liars and I’m disappointed that no one in congress works for us but only wants to discredit the other side.

today’s trump presser was perfect example where he told bold lie abt Google building coronavirus website for govt

Sounds like both sides are pretty bad! Democratic leaders, of course, routinely hold press conferences where they call Republican governors dumb losers, contradict scientists, brag about MSNBC's ratings, and insinuate that people from various countries are criminals and murderers.
