I live in Texas too. I've been menaced for wearing a mask. My polling place last year had so many Trump supporters that I wouldn't take my young grandsons with me while I voted, something I did routinely when my sons were young, because I feared for their safety.

It's easy to be kind when your beliefs aren't threatened. I have Trump-supporting friends who are pleasant as long as our conversations are superficial, but go ballistic if we have a difference of opinion.

And what truly amazes me is the lack of personal responsibility from people who tout the virtues of personal responsibility! There's always someone or something to blame for terrible behavior.
