And while Trump with the help of Fox News and others spew hate toward Kamala Harris the same thing that happened in 2016 is happening again. While the media runs after these constant soundbites of hate and the absurd from Trump, they are spending less time on the air and less column space in the paper covering a really important story and that's voter suppression. Trump with the help of thug Postmaster General Louis DeJoy are dismantling the Post Office before our eyes. Mail is piling up, overtime for carriers has been suspended, sorting machines are being removed, the cost of mailing a ballot has gone up threefold. So while the Trump administration and Fox News are screaming the sky is falling now that Biden has picked Harris, voter suppression tactics along with Russian interference are well underway. Trump is attempting to steal this election in plain site. That needs to be the number one story even over Covid-19 and that's because if Trump were to be successful and get reelected, we will not get rid of the virus anytime soon. The media's biggest mistake is to not ignore the Trump clown car. As what happened four years ago, the press is subtly enabling the election of Trump again. And if you think it can't happen again, it can. Remember Trump won in 2016 with razor thin margins in four swing states. Although the polls currently show Trump losing in all major categories, his administration is at least planting the seeds for a disputed election that will further divide this country, perhaps irreparably.

Don't forget Trump is also dismantling Social Security and Medicare and the media just shrugs.

Right, Trump and his shenanigans are exhausting. Can't take another 4 years of this.

Amen! I don’t want to hear from the media about how Biden needs to be more exciting. I want calm competence. The media seems to things political campaigners should be the equivalent of a tour by a rock star.

I saw on Twitter that this morning on Fox he said he wanted to destroy the Post Office so that Democrats couldn't vote by mail. (Paraphrasing).

Yep, right out in the open. I don't get how this is not 24-7 coverage. The PO is in the Constitution. It's a service. Was never intended to make a prophet. This is sick.

Dan Froomkin has an article at Salon that reminded me of your comment. He points out that the networks’ nightly news programs are where most lower information viewers get their news. I was shocked to read that ABC’s “World News Tonight” is the most watched show on televisions with 9 million viewers. And those broadcasts are big offenders when it comes to bothsiderism and mamby-pamby coverage of Trump’s outrages. On Thursday the big story was Trump’s assault on the PO to mess with mail-in ballots. The print media coverage was blunt for the most part, but the evening news — not so much. In fact CBS didn’t even cover that hugely important story that night.

Intentionally pronouncing a name incorrectly is a form of insult that is learned on the playground. Most people abandon that juvenile way of insulting as they become adults who learn sophisticated insulting. But we still have Tucker Carlson playing the playground insulting game with incorrect variations of Kamala Harris' first name. And we have Trump and the entire republican party still in the playground with 'Democrat' instead of 'Democratic'. Not sophisticated. Just Juvenile.

indeed, Tucker is insanely juvenile...a perfect face of the Trump GOP

Critical thinking has seriously eroded in our population since 2015. I'm beyond delving in to why so many have given up their ability to critically think about what they hear and read. I do know that I am voting for Biden. We get a huge enough number of voters to promise to themselves to carry that intention thru and get their votes in, we can get this administration and the sycophant senators that are running for re-election out of office.

One of my brothers has become a right-wing nutjob. In an email conversation with him he actually mocked me for providing evidence for what I was saying. For them, it's all about feelings. Facts don't matter anymore. It's really disturbing. How do we get back to a place where we can have disagreements about policy, but agree on the baseline facts?

And by signal boosting Fox's "reporting" because "it's out there", Mainstream media have been just as culpable.

Racism is simple and ugly; hence why journalists have to ask simple questions. "How/why do you justify calling Senator Harris nasty?" "Evidence is that you repeatedly call strong women 'nasty' ~ can you explain that characterization?" In the past conservatives like Wm. F. Buckley attempted to couch their racism in rationalization; Trump does not and thus, journalists should avoid helping him sugar coat it by asking long-winded, non-direct questions. Hope is that strong female journalists, like Reid, Alcindor, Jiang will.

I've been referring to Fox as Der Sturmer since about 2017, because that's what it's become. At this point (well, after Charlottesville, actually), anyone who still watches Fox's opinion shows and who is still planning to support Trump, can be written off as racist, misogynistic, anti-science homophobes who support treason. They can't hide behind the economics any longer, because the economy is in the toilet because of Trump's Covid response. Fox's constant cheerleading for him shows its deep contempt for everyone in this country, including Trump's supporters. It's too bad that the viewers are too blinded by hate to see that.

Misogny cocktails are also served on "progressive" radio, now with special "instructions" for the girls. Jeff Santos, for example, said ON THE AIR that her vice presidency could work if "Harris keeps her mouth quiet, smiles for the cameras, and goes to the funerals." He added that he needs her commitment to not seek the presidency in 2024. The Nasty Woman Oh Hell No Society includes threatened men of all stripes, pass more manly drinks, please. At least Trump hasn't insisted that Kamala Harris not run for president herself in four years.

Here, as promised, is today's PUTIN PLOT FOR WORLD DOMINATION FUN FACT, an excerpt from my upcoming book "WHILE AMERICA SLEPT: How Vladimir Putin Won the Cold War for Mother Russia in the End," to be published in Russian, so that future generations of Americans can enjoy it.

TODAY'S FACT: February 1, 2017, an interview with Trump's personal doctor Harold Bornstein appears in "The New York Times," among other newspapers (the above link is to "The Boston Globe") and the apparently surprising revalation of intimate details of Trump's medical history jolts his personal attorney Rudolph Giuliani into action, making sure further such details are kept secret.

See this spot tomorrow for another PUTIN'S PLOT FOR WORLD DOMINATION FUN FACT . . . or take a look at the Facebook link I've provided, to read the whole thing now. It's shorter than "Mein Kampf," promise!

There, THAT'S the link. I'm still figuring out this "web-surfing with one finger and a smartphone" thing. I apologize again. Can you read what I've posted there, and maybe we can save the country, already. Whaddya say?

Does it work? Feel free to try it, everyone. Do you agree with my conclusions? Can we still avert disaster in time, if more people know THERE'S PROOF HE'S A GENUINE NUT, and as such, a particularly USEFUL IDIOT?

Mr. Boehlert, this is an official Boehlert Alert. This is the schmoe who drew the short straw, and wound up doing lookout tower duty on a beautiful morning here in Hawaii. I'm seeing hundreds of fighter planes overhead, flying in the direction of Pearl Harbor.

They seem to be painted to look like Japanese zeros. (Look, I know that I must be mistaken -- they've gotta be our own guys, out for an early morning exercise, right?) No, no you know who I am? I'm the Florida flight school instructor who's teaching a nice group of young Muslim men how to fly passenger jets. But it's the strangest thing . . . They say in their funny broken English, "Oh, never mind the part about teaching us about how to land the plane safely. We don't need to learn that." Isn't that odd? I wonder what that could possibly mean? Any idea?

No, no, you know who I am? I'm the new Press Run Media member who's trying to get you to look at some uncomfortable coincidences I've noticed (now that I have too much time on my hands, due to early retirement, the pandemic, what-have-you) and documented on a FB friend's page. I'm trying to get you to look at these publicly reported facts and see if, taken together, they suggest the same thing to you that they scream out to me.

If you'd like, I can really get my six dollars' worth out of my subscription this month, and I'll post a daily "Putin Plot for World Domination Fun Fact" here at the board. At the very least, I should have enough content for my upcoming book, "While America Slept: How Vladimir Putin Won the Cold War for Mother Russia in the End," to be published in Russian, of course. Can you please take a look at what I wrote, and weigh in? I'll post the link again. Tell me if it works.

On the subject of critical thinking, I would appreciate your opinion on the evidence I've presented at the discussion section of the July 9 post of one of my FB friends, link posted above. Can you read what I wrote there? (I apologize for my limited computer skills -- also I've been relying on my cellphone and my index finger for internet access since they shut down the public library, months ago.) SPOILER ALERT: the publically-reported facts suggest that Putin, Giuliani, possibly Xi, are using what they know about Trump's medical history (namely that he has a prior diagnosis of mental illness) to control his actions. The "bone spurs" excuse were a cover story concocted to conceal the REAL reason Trump didn't go to Vietnam. The reason he was rejected from Army service is the same reason he should never have been allowed to run for President, as well as the reason he should be removed from office now: his complete medical records contain a prior diagnosis of mental illness. The fact that former KGB man Putin "has the goods" on Trump, and is apparently threatening to reveal all (ending his presidency) is a national security issue.

Please let me know what you think.
