He's going to keep lying, and even if it does turn out he wins, we're going to keep fighting for the truth, and just fighting however we can. Already on Twitter they are saying the left chose to ignore the values of the right. That's what they said in 2016. Bull. The values the right claims that the left don't understand--the good ones--are our values, too. Patriotism. Hard work. Caring for your fellow man. They choose to listen to lies about who we are.

it’s a movement based on lies, there’s no question abt that

Trumpists view the lies as weapons.

Patriotism, hard work, your word is your bond: these are values we think we all share. Yet the right embraces a lazy, lying president who refuses to acknowledge any value in people who do not care for him.

Tammy Baldwin was just on the TV saying effectively this. Dear Sen Baldwin, this is why you lose elections. If Biden wins and pushes for Kumbaya, I don’t think I’ll be able to eat for a week.

Well regarding the AP, I'm not surprised. And good for the TV channels that correctly pushed back. James Carville, George Will, and Charlie Pierce were among those that said it would be over by 10PM eastern time. Well, they were wrong. But fact is the election is playing out exactly as most experts had predicted. And as of this morning, according to Nate Silver, Biden is in a much better position to win. The fight now however is for the press to continue to push back an unhinged Trump who is threatening to go to the Supreme Court to stop the vote counting. When has this ever happened? It is common for votes to be counted way past Election Day. Have we forgotten 2000 when the election wasn't decided until December? Be patient, and pressure your representatives to allow the process to play out.

agreed, it becomes in part a p.r. battle for GOP, and press will play big role

You will like this headline up now at the WaPo:

“Trump blatantly seeks to undermine democracy with false claim of victory, attempt to subvert election” Dan Balz

That is how it should be done. The facts are clear in the headlines not Trump’s bogus claims. The story is framed correctly from the beginning.

Perfect!! I never want to see our American media handle another politician with such passiveness. If they are lying, call them out. If they are doing something good for the country, state the facts. I don't want to get my news from a glee club. I want journalists with some kind of backbone and integrity. I could care less about everyone sitting around talking about "this and that and here's my take what about your's Jane and your's Don". I want reporting. How hard news became a sitting room of opinions needs to be identified as really just .. political entertainment.

Ugh, why do they have such a hard time calling him a liar who is trying to subvert the election process? It's the truth. I'm glad the WaPo didn't go that way, but too many news outlets softpedal what Trump says. They all need to stop being so afraid of what the GOP says. Let them scream about the liberal news media, they do it anyway, even when the media gives into them.

Makes you wonder who REALLY owns these rags, and calls the shots.

I phone banked for Joe during the last 3 weekends and based on those calls I was hopeful about Ohio and Texas and had doubts about Pennsylvania. I was hopeful that the 24/7 GOP Brainwashing Machine wasn't as effective as it was but it turns out that the Corporate Controlled Conservative Press continues to have a lock on millions of people.

Making this all the more ironic, CNN did better than AP? The additionally amusing part was the harrumphing about how AP is the gold standard for calling races, and they were to be admired for their restraint and judgment. Ok.

Today The Times used "falsely" in a web headline about last night's attempt to complete the coup. I've been warning Messrs. Sulzberger and Baquet that the First Amendment can't survive a second term. We may just get to find out.

It’s especially ridiculous considering Biden was ahead in both the popular vote and the electoral college at the time Trump said this. If they had stopped the count, Biden still would have won. 🙄

And there’s no way these votes should be this close. I want an audit of the Senate votes, because these numbers are wrong.

Dead on. My guess would be they were the focus of Russian shenanigans. Not that I over-estimate the intelligence of voters in ME, KY, AL, MT or IA. Pretty sad.

Yep. I wouldn't doubt that a pact was made with a green light given, early on (with "radio silence" then maintained between T卐ump and Poot to avoid exposure), to undermine Biden's campaign in whatever way possible. Vlad would give anything to see the USA go under......that's what Яabid jealousy does to megalomaniacal despots.

We need to have a long, serious discussion about the value of polls and the media that depends on those poll numbers to provide content in a 24-hour competitive news cycle that must be filled with material of some kind.

Polls are one thing and they may well have accurately reflected responses, but if voting is suppressed in various ways, the actual results will not match up. I never once heard Kornacki allow for skewed results, especially in Dem strongholds (Miami for example), being the result of possible voting interference. Now we learn a federal judge is requiring the USPS to find and deliver 300k ballots that didn't make it to the election authorities. There are no doubt 8 million such stories in the Naked Trump City.

When Rachel Maddow holds up a series of front pages from around the country, as if to show variety, a closer look reveals the AP byline common to them all. The last thing they can afford is a lapse in integrity by syndication. I take heart when my local paper runs with the AP. This is disappointing at best.
