Comments on the press ghosting Warren at every opportunity? Reporting on positions 1,2,3 and 5 where Warren's #4, etc?!

I've decided to find other sources other than MSM. MSNBC was my primary choice especially Rachel Maddow. But even her reporting just left me flat and angry. MSM seems to dance around the issues where I see my Democracy being attacked. Rachel poised the question "what do we do" then went to interviewing Klobuchar. I'm looking for what do to fight back, scared shitless our freedoms are going away forever.

I agree that most of the media is reluctant to sort of break the glass on the alarm case and start being honest abt what’s at stake for democracy in the Trump era

Mr. Copeland, I tend to believe that we currently have the tools to hold our representatives accountable, but they tend to weaken if we continue to those with ambitious agendas to slowly erode them. The vote alone, as important as it is, will not get it done. Because of gerrymandering and voter suppression, citizens must reach out to their representatives (local, statewide, and national) regularly to remind them that we hold them accountable and that hey answer to us. In addition, we need to make every effort to reduce money in our politics.

With respect to the media, I agree that they sell news as entertainment and a source of profit rather than the critical information broadcast to keep us properly informed and situated to make better decisions about the direction of our democratic republic.

I'm right there with you and let's don't ever give up. Things have been worse than they are now and during those times they only got better because of folks like us continuing to fight.

Take care.

Thank you for this article, Eric. No group of voters wants to feel taken for granted, and the same news sources that you speak of behave as though they are shocked that the black vote gets taken for granted, when in fact they perpetuate the very practice. Cheers!

As a tangential matter that I would argue is related to this topic, we need to give serious contemplation on the negative impacts of using newsrooms as a profit source.

Eric - you are light in the tunnel - Now help me. How did we get passed 2 of the whitest / gun toting states in the US only to find CNNPolitics headline being - Elizabeth Warren's campaign is 'struggling..' Shades of the misogyny that is such a tribal presence that we have a rich 'socialist' - - complete with his white white white angry mob bringing coffins to a Binden rally - and when a women says 'they all absolutely hate Hillary of course' - why doesn't' someone say 'Why?

ugh....I have to say Jan/Feb of primary cycles are my least favorite bc so few people get to vote, yet the passions run super high. Ie I like it when millions get to vote and we have to rely less on pundits who, I agree, erase certain candidates.

Just joined here today after hearing your interview with Michelangelo S. I’m a longtime fan and Steph-head. Thank you for calling lies lies, and for speaking out against the normalization of GOP tactics and of the Trump fact distortion field.

I believe there is an increased fear of erasure and that is what causes the vitriol, meanness and vile way that some white people treat black people. This is happening in the workplace where we work, the news we consume, the places we visit, etc. When you think your majority is going away, p.s. it is, and that you may be treated how you treated others, well. As a person of color, my goal is to be equal, not take from or punish just be equal. I do not think that is too much to fight for. L
