The number of times I've had people come at me because I dared say something dumb like Joe Biden gets to choose and no one else. No one he picks is good enough for the that end of the spectrum. I have seen complaining from the left on cable shows too. But the real issue is that the media prefers to focus on the disagreements rather than substance.
The media ignores the fact that Hunter Biden “scandal” was created by the same people who created the fake Clinton Foundation scandals, Steve Bannon and his henchman Peter Schweitzer. In both instances Schweitzer started the process by writing a book full of innuendo and false accusations. (“Clinton Cash” and “Secret Empires”) Then they got the mainstream media to pick up the story. In the case of the Clinton Foundation they negotiated directly with the NY Times and WaPo giving them exclusive access to the most damaging smears. With the Ukraine story they used Schweitzer’s pal John Solomon as the middle man to get the story into The Hill. From there the Times and Post picked it up.
The next step in the process is right wingers in the government opening an investigation of the person under attack. In the CF case that was accomplished by the Trump-loving FBI agents in the NY field office who opened an investigation against the directive of the DOJ. They then pressured higher ups until someone leaked the fact that the CF was being investigated by the FBI. McCabe caved and leaked that fact to the WSJ.
With the Ukraine story the DOJ approved an investigation but unlike Comey, Barr did not allow his underlings to leak the fact of that investigation during the election. I am shocked that Barr did the right thing in this case.

Frankly I was also shocked that he didn't release it earlier. Was he thinking ahead for a change?
